My child was just

diagnosed with autism.

Now What?

From understanding your child’s diagnosis, to starting a therapy program, there are a lot of steps along the way. Our team of clinicians are here to help. Below is a step by step guide of our process at ALC.

GIVE US A CALL.

Whether you’re ready to schedule a free tour or just need information, we are happy to assist you. Call us at (402) 432-0377.

WE’LL PROVIDE A FREE TOUR.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will meet with both you and your child to discuss your family’s needs, and share information about our therapy programs. We will be happy to answer any questions you have and walk you step by step through obtaining ABA services.

OUR STAFF WILL WORK WITH YOUR INSURANCE.

Our team will manage the insurance process from the beginning to the end. We contact your insurance provider to ensure your child is eligible for services and to procure funding.

WE’LL PROVIDE AN ASSESSMENT AND CREATE A PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLAN.

We will provide a 1:1 assessment and engage with your child through a variety of play, observation, and conversation. From there, we will build a personalized therapy program tailored to your child’s individual needs.

ABA SERVICES WILL BEGIN.

We’ll reassess via all-staff meetings and collaborate with you to ensure the plan continues to address your child’s needs over time. We will also work with you to answer any questions or provide assistance in your child's continual growth and learning.

Our behavioral team will come to your home to implement a tailored program designed specifically to target your child’s needs. A behavioral therapist will work one-on-one with your child for a prescribed number of hours per week to ensure that they are able to exhibit the skills needed in the environment most natural to them.

Our ABA home therapy services in Omaha also place an emphasis on daily and family routines to help ensure skills are functional. Autism Learning Collaborative also understands the importance of inclusion into the community. Goals can also be targeted in the community setting (e.g. dining in restaurants, navigating trips to the grocery store, etc).

For early learners requiring more intensive one-on-one services, our ABA therapy clinic in West Omaha provides an environment conducive to teaching fundamental skills with the support they need. Your child will learn and practice skills needed to thrive in a classroom environment such as how to attend and follow instructions, communicate effectively and interact with their peers.

We offer ABA therapy in our center located at 11906 Arbor St, in Omaha, Nebraska, 68144. Therapy is offered Monday- Friday from 9:00 am- 6:00 pm.

Multi-Treatment Modalities

Speech, Occupational & Physical Therapy: Autism Learning Collaborative understands that the children we serve may require other services, such as speech, physical and occupational therapy. Kid*Ability is partnering with ALC to provide these services with ALC's clients in their adjacent suite and/or within ALC's facility.

Child Care: In addition, Autism Learning Collaborative is also partnering with High Hopes Childcare, an organization committed to providing quality care inclusive of all children. Staff are especially equipped to work with children that are medically fragile and/or have special needs.

At ALC, we understand that every individual and their family have various needs. We work with you and your team to provide easy to access, quality care and are there for you every step of the way.

School-Based Services

For children requiring more support at school, we provide 1:1 services to assist students with their behaviors and maximize their ability to access their school environment. Our board certified behavior analysts also can provide consultation and training as needed to school staff to support your child’s ongoing progress.

Remote services are available for individuals that have the pre-requisite skills needed to thrive using this platform. Direct therapy services can be provided 1:1 via a behavior technician. Parent consultation can also be delivered by a board certified behavior analyst remotely when convenient for the family.

Developing friendships and being able to share experiences with others is critical to our well-being. Children with autism exhibit difficulty displaying age-appropriate social norms. By fostering and practicing these skills in a safe environment with a small group of their peers, your child will learn to be increasingly confident with maneuvering around their social sphere.

Meet Our Clinical Director

Alexa Nippa, Clinical Director – West Omaha, Nebraska

Alexa began her journey in applied behavior analysis when she enrolled in the behavior analysis and therapy graduate program at Ball State University in 2018, having previously completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Alexa provided in-home ABA services in Chicago for over seven years before enrolling in graduate school, and now has over 12 years of experience launching clinic-based services in Chicago and Nebraska to better meet the needs of those communities. She is inspired by the clients that she gets to work with and the families that share a part of their lives with their team. She values that each person she has worked with has taught her to look at life in a different way, to look at problems in a different way, to realize some things aren't problems, and to celebrate the journey.

Outside of work you can find Alexa enjoying time with her family on the lake, finding vintage treasures at local thrift stores, or wandering the aisles of Target and letting the bullseye tell her what to buy.
