Remote ABA Therapy for Your Child

Autism Learning Collaborative offers remote services for individuals that have the pre-requisite skills needed to thrive using this platform. Direct therapy services can be provided 1:1 via a behavior technician. Parent consultation can also be delivered by a board certified behavior analyst remotely when convenient for the family. Is Remote Therapy Right for Us?

I Do Not Live in a Location Where ABA Services are Available

Telehealth can expand access to ABA services where clinicians are scarce. In a virtual environment, individuals can receive the services they need regardless of their physical location.

My Availability is Limited

Family involvement is important to the success of your child's program. We understand that it may be difficult to attend every one of your child's sessions. Parent education and consultation can be provided remotely when you are more available.

We Need to Cater to Two Households

ALC encourages parent involvement through every step of the process. Telehealth therapy allows parents in different households to stay involved in their child's sessions.

My Child Changes Their Behavior When Others Are Present

It isn't uncommon for a child to change their typical behavior in the presence of others. Telehealth is a less intrusive and more natural way to observe natural routines and provide consultation to parents and supervision to behavior therapists without being physically present.

Benefits of Telehealth in ABA Therapy

Telehealth's popularity has grown exponentially due to its ability to allow ABA therapists to make naturalistic observations. Telehealth is a convenient option for many families, especially in rural communities or families who lack reliable transportation to attend therapy sessions. Additional benefits of telehealth ABA therapy include the following advantages.

Increased Supervision and Communication

During an ABA therapy session, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will oversee treatment with support from one of our behavior interventionists (BI).

In some situations, the BCBA may not be able to travel to an in-home therapy session more than a few times each month. With telehealth, the BCBA can join sessions more frequently and answer questions regarding progress and goals. While remote ABA therapy does not replace the time our BCBA's spend with your child in person, it does allow the BCBA to supplement the level of care they currently provide.

Improved Patient Outcomes

Increasing the frequency in which a BCBA can communicate with parents and caregivers through telehealth allows the BCBA to quickly modify treatment plans to ensure your child is progressing towards reaching their goals. As a result of this increased communication, your child may be able to accelerate their treatment for an improved outcome and greater satisfaction.

Reduces Stress

If your child has difficulty adjusting to a new setting or changes in their routine, telehealth allows them to receive therapy in a familiar environment with little disruption to their daily schedule. Telehealth also reduces stress on caregivers and removes the need to prepare your child and transport them to one of our clinics for services.

Keeps a Consistent Therapy Schedule

Use telehealth to remove the worry of missing appointments. Since virtual aba therapy allows for flexible scheduling, you can set appointments at times that work for your child without the need to account for traffic or waiting at our office. The convenience of telehealth also allows for easy rescheduling if your child needs to miss a session.

How Does ABA Telehealth Work?

Before your child begins remote therapy, their supervising BCBA must deem telehealth as clinically appropriate. After receiving approval, telehealth services from Autism Learning Collaborative are as simple as using a phone, tablet or computer to allow your child and their behavioral therapist to connect over a secure healthcare platform.

Your child will begin their ABA therapy program with an evaluation. During this meeting, a technician will learn more about you and your child by discussing behaviors, skills and challenges. The technician will then create a personalized treatment plan. While your child will not complete their treatment plan entirely on telehealth, parent interviews and parent check-ins may be one of the many services completed through telehealth.
